What a great day for a drive over the Rockies!
As we began this years journey we wanted to see something new. With that as our goal, we have yet to see the area of Utah where the Mighty 5 parks are found. Arches, Canyon Land, Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion. So, lets head to Utah, one problem, we are leaving in November and need to cross the Rockies. OK, it is risky at this time of year so while watching the area weather, we noticed a nice weather window, so we booked it through Nebraska, nothing missed and today we headed out of Denver to drive over the mountains in a day. That is no issue if the weather permits, an easy drive and with the bluebird sky's we had today, it was fantastic! The picture is of the area we visited in 1976. We had just met and Gary had taught me to ski so why not? The area has changed but it is still as beautiful as I remember and the slopes are open, too bad we no longer ski. From this point, everything is new, including Vail, Glenwood Canyon and the views that just don't quit.
