Sand Flats Recreation Area
Utah is a lot like Arizona with a large amounts of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land open for the public to use. In the Moab area, unlike AZ, they charge a small fee for the public to use the land for recreational use, including hiking, biking, ATV and even camping. The camp sites are basic with no services like electric, water or sewer services, but they do provide a nicely graded designated site with a table and fire pit. Near Moab, in the mountains behind our RV site, is a mountain bikers heaven with trails over rock areas called Slick Rock. There are several nice campsites that a Class A can fit into nicely. There is a $10 per night fee which is high for BLM but as you can see by the pictures, the views and opportunity for exploration are great. We hope to return in a future trip and visit this site in Jupiter.
