Tamale Festival
It would be a shame to come to southern Arizona and not experience the true local cuisine. After spending the night at a casino, where we once again were paid to stay, we had the good luck to participate in the annual Tamale Festival. The festival is held in a large amphitheater built by the local tribes at the casino, a great place for such an event and the weather was perfect for strolling, eating and listening to the mariachi. The tamales how ever may be a bit to authentic for us northerners because I found them to be very dry and bland. Still a fun event and a day well spent.
