Oklahoma Earthquake in an RV

Saturday night as we were about to go to sleep the RV started to shack just before 11p.m. At first we thought that the wind which had been blowing strong all day had really picked up, but as the rocking continued, we both realized that we were experiencing our first earthquake. We were in the little historic town of Guthrie just north of Oklahoma City. The earthquake, the second and strongest that day was centered in Sparks about 40 miles east of us. I'm not sure how strong it was in Guthrie but in Sparks, the magnitude was 5.6 lasting for almost a minute. 5.6 is the largest earthquake in Oklahoma's history. It was followed by a series of aftershocks Sunday morning, including two that reached 4.0. There were no injuries but there was damage to buildings and the freeway.

Sorry for the lack of photos, we have been driving to get out of potential bad weather coming our way and have had only a few moments to enjoy the surroundings. They will come as we are now in a position to slow down and smell the mesquite.
