St. Augustine FL

Lions Bridge

In the far north east corner of Florida sits this nations oldest city and my favorite in the south east, St. Augustine. Just a short bike ride from an equally nice state park, Anastasia and you have the makings for a great place to visit. Sure it's a bit touristy but look at what you get, Anastasia island has beautiful beaches, a stone fortress built by Spanish colonists, a pedestrian friendly street scape made for shopping and even a light house. Throw in some good places to eat and you have it all! It was hard hit by the recent hurricane, Mathew but it is recovering fast and we spent the day in town and almost all the shops were open. Good thing as I really needed some sun dresses for later this season. I found a lovely little boutique, Shopaholic that had buy two at $19 each and get one free! Oh yes I did! Pizza on the bike ride back to the park with some Grateful Dead playing and you have a good day in this girls opinion.
