Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area

Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) this windswept park is named for Florida folk singer Gamble Rogers. The beach is the most popular feature at this park, with beautiful sunrises, good surf and sand are far as the eye can see. But there's more to this facility, just across A1A thre is access to the ICW and 32 new sites. Located in Flagler Beach near the small town it's a sleepy local which is just fine with us. The park lost a few of the beach access walkways but camping is still great. Now that we are in FL, we purchased our fishing licenses and hope to catch some dinner soon. There are fish in these waters but so far all I've caught was a blue crab and Gary had two lures bit in half. Both are good signs. I'm thinking I might just ditch the pole for a bag with some stinky bait and catch me a crab dinner!
