Visit to Joshau Tree National Park

Our last four nights in Lake Havasu were at a large resort near the Parker Dam. During an afternoon sun we had two little ducks come in for a free meal.

The Joshau Trees are beautiful, that goes without saying but so is this park. It is well worth the extra miles to drive into So Cal and tour the park. If we had to do this again, we would come in from the north where most of the adventures lie. This is a great NP with two deserts and two unique eco systems, well marked trails and several campgrounds (no hookups). Ocotillo and Cholla cactus are also included in the plants to see as you move from one area to another. One could easily spend a week exploring the park, and we are trying to see it in a day. The pictures speak for themselves.

  1. Hi Gary and Delys,

Brenda and I continue to enjoy your posts. I have viewed all your trip posts, including your Europe trip. We find your pictures and write-ups very interesting. You are really making the most of your travels, seeing all the sights in every area you go to, it seems.

I sent the link for this blog to Dorothy and Ray Nelson about three weeks ago, and they were very interested too.

    Best wishes on your travels.

    Regards,
    Paul and Brenda Rasmussen

  2. Paul and Brenda, we are so happy to receive your comments, it really makes us feel the blog worth while. Thanks for passing the blog onto Ray and Dorothy, hopefully they will also enjoy the blog and follow our trips. The feedback from people following our blog helps when we are missing everyone. We started the blog to help us remember our travel experiences, the happy accident is that it has done much to help us stay connected with family and friends. Next week we will be back in Phoenix and visit with Dorothy and Lyle who have extended a warm invite to us, we look forward to seeing family.

  3. I am not one to find beauty in the desert but you have certainly captured it. Thanks for the great shots.

  4. I thought the Joshau Trees one of the most beautiful desert plants so far. And I was shocked to learn that they are actually Yucca's gone wild. It would be something to see them in bloom!
