We're not in Kansas anymore!

We traveled through Kansas in three days staying in the states largest state park, near El Dorado. The park wraps around a reservoir with over 1000 camp sites. Our area had only three other campers. I took only a few pictures as this area of Kansas is flat prairie and not the best for shooting. That said, it is beautiful, just difficult to capture. With each day we see warmer weather and today in Guthrie we enjoyed temps near 80. Driving down main street of this small town was a trip back in time. The trees are in full color here, something we missed back home.

Guthrie is a lovely little town with a beautifully restored main street. At one time Guthrie was the capital of Oklahoma. It is also key component in the Oklahoma land run. Guthrie became a city with 10,000 people in a single day back in April 1889, hosting the Federal Land Office.

Tomorrow we will skirt the pan handle before we enter into Texas.
