Hilton Head Island

Taking the name of William Hilton, an English captain who explored the island for planting crops, Hilton Head is famous for it's twelve-mile stretch of glistening sand, world class golfing, biking and shopping. A must see tourist destination. Well come on, we are tourists after all. Another good example of the lifestyles of the rich and shameless. After all, where else in the US will you find carpeting that leads you down to the beach?

  1. Hi Gary and Delys,

We continue to enjoy your posts. It looks like you might be heading in the direction of our Washington, DC, area. Cherry blossoms are usually at their peak when March turns to April--in other words, March 31 and April 1.

Our Reston location is about 20 miles west of DC, and there is a Fairfax County campground with hookups about three miles from us. (We aren't sure when it opens for the season.) We would like you to join us for lunch at our condominium home if/when you are in our area. We hope to see you. Best wishes, Paul and Brenda Rasmussen

  2. Thanks Brenda and Paul for the invitation. We are in SC to visit my brother in the next week and will be making our way back home after that. We would love to get into the Reston area, do some camping, visit with you two and hope to do so within the next few years. I had a chance to see the cherry blossoms while I was at a conference and loved it. Gary has yet to see that area in spring so that is on our short list of things to do.
